Embrace Us Now

Every flaw we have on our skin
Reflects when and where we've been
No need to shame the vessel we live in
Bring on the cleansing bath of petrichor
Time to switch up the words and love this editor
Change the theme of our self talk anthem
To we are enough and embrace us now!

Dear EveryBeauty,

Recently I realized that my self talk is pretty awful! Telling myself I'm too fat, too hairy, too flawed, too... etc. The thoughts of self judgement, and self criticism etched into my brain coming up to the surface. I never knew how judgemental and how harsh I was on myself. I never knew.

So I decided to watch this movie called "Embrace" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8vnaRiF_-U ) a documentary on self-image. Accepting the body we live in. And I was pleasantly surprised. Literally my turning point!

I don't know where to start, there is just too much.

This topic hits pretty deep for me. Because for so long, I've been uncomfortable, embarrassed and disgraced by my own body. Not feeling good enough for a boyfriend, or even good-looking girlfriends to hang out with. I always felt I didn't "fit in". Felt I was a body outsider, so to speak. :P

But ever since I've watched that movie "Embrace", I'm realized social media has literally engrained in us that tall + blonde + slender = the only beauty for women. That every other shape is "ugly".

A few days ago I came across a post, talking about the upcoming remake of Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs. The premise of the new remake is: "The dwarfs are actually cursed princes, seeking a pair of magical red shoes that will transform them back to their original stature. But those shoes belong to Snow White, who also uses them to transform herself from a short, rounder woman into a tall, slender one." Is this what we are teaching our kids, what beauty is? That you are not beautiful if you are not tall + slender + blonde?! Absolutely BULLSHIT!

We are all beautiful bodies! If you are short, tall, curvy, thin, have cellulite, have stretch marks, have whatever, YOU ARE F*CKING BEAUTIFUL! Stand up for yourself and believe in you as a woman! We as women have gone through such scrutiny by the social media, it's completely nuts! This is 2017 and times are a changing and NEED to change. Stop shrinking and not believing in yourself! You were put on this earth for a magical, powerful and euphoric reason! There are MANY bodies on this planet and it is all part of the Mother Earth tapestry.

Stop buying into the "sex sells" mentality and start buying into "being me for what feels good" mentality! That is your soul speaking, your body voice singing, not your monkey mind of self-doubt and self-uncertainty. Your self talk needs to start with; soul-heart-mind not mind-heart-soul. You/We all are very intelligent, wise and powerful human BE-ings. Start stepping into that power!!!

Whenever we look for the outside to change who we want to "Be" we always fail and come back to square ONE (you).  It all comes back to you. Looking for the change to happen outside, we first need to change feelings/thoughts/energy within to alter the outside. We are wave beings, waves go out not in; we are the same.

Let me tell you, when I feel the words of "I accept me, as is", my entire body relaxes. :) THAT is where the goodness is! YOU ARE ENOUGH! Hair, one boob and all!

You are loved!
You are enough!

Luv you for who you already are,
